Professional Institute for Air-Conditioning in Buildings, FGK

The Professional Institut for Air-Conditioning in Buildings (in german words: Fachinstitut Gebäude-Klima e.V.; abbreviation: FGK) was founded in 1970 by the German Air-Conditioning and Ventilation industry. The main topic was to improve the indoor air quality especially in commercial and public buildings and to force enery efficient technologies in the technical building equipment field. Nowadays roundabout 300 members represent all areas of the Air-Conditioning and ventilation field: Industrial companies, designers, engineers, producers of components as well as installation companies and building automation companies. In addition nearly all Universities dealing with Technical Building Equipment and several organisations and industry oriented assiciations and publishing houses join the membership in FGK.

Information activities, public relations, press campaigns, special presentations at different trade fairs and market-widening activities set up the priorities of the FGK s tasks. Another very important task is the participation in national and international standardisation committees.
